CEM Stamp Restoration Overlay is a single-component cementitious overlay for restoring worn, pitted, or spalled existing concrete. The 50 lb mix can be troweled or stamped to create decorative finishes over properly prepared horizontal concrete surfaces. Designed for interior and exterior residential and commercial applications, CEM Stamp can be used on patios, walkways, pool decks, driveways, interior floors, and other compatible concrete surfaces. It can also be integrally colored or finished with compatible stains for different colors, patterns, and surface designs.

What Is CEM StampΒ Restoration Overlay?

CEM Stamp Restoration Overlay is a single-component cementitious material applied over properly prepared existing concrete to create a new surface for decorative finishing. Its formulation combines Portland cement, sand, and proprietary additives in a 50 lb dry mix.

The overlay is intended for concrete surfaces showing wear, pitting, or spalling when the existing concrete is suitable for resurfacing. After preparation and priming, CEM Stamp can be troweled to produce a finished surface or worked with stamping tools to form patterns and textures. The material can also receive compatible integral color or stains as part of the finished design.

CEM Stamp is made for horizontal concrete in both interior and exterior settings. Rather than replacing the existing slab, the material becomes the new overlay surface over the prepared concrete beneath it.

Key Benefits of CEM Stamp

  • Single-Component Mix: Supplied as a 50 lb dry mix that is combined with clean water before application.
  • Troweled or Stamped Application: Can be finished with a trowel or used with stamping tools, depending on the surface design.
  • Strong Adhesion: Designed to bond to properly prepared concrete when applied with the required CEM Grip-it primer.
  • Interior & Exterior Use: Made for horizontal concrete surfaces in both indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Residential & Commercial Applications: For residential and commercial concrete resurfacing projects.
  • Color & Stain Options: Accepts CEM Chroma integral color, compatible acid stains, and CEM Tone water-based stains.
  • Pattern & Texture Options: Works with CEM Impressions stamping tools to create stone-style patterns and textured surfaces.
  • Zero VOC: Listed at 0 VOC in the CEM Stamp Technical Data Sheet.

Where Can CEM Stamp Be Used?

CEM Stamp can be used to resurface horizontal concrete in interior and exterior residential and commercial settings. Applications include patios, walkways, pool decks, driveways, interior floors, and other concrete surfaces identified for the system.

Patios & Walkways

CEM Stamp can give concrete patios and walkways a troweled or stamped finish, with compatible colors, stains, patterns, and textures available for decorative applications.

Pool Decks

Concrete pool decks can be resurfaced with CEM Stamp and finished with stamped or textured patterns. Compatible coloring methods can also be used to change the appearance of the surface.

Driveways

CEM Stamp is listed for use on concrete driveways. The concrete must be prepared according to the system requirements, including use of the required CEM Grip-it primer.

Interior Floors

Interior applications include concrete floors in basement rooms, bathrooms, and kitchens. Depending on the project, CEM Stamp can be troweled, colored, stained, or given another compatible decorative finish.

Residential & Commercial Areas

CEM Stamp is intended for residential and commercial applications, including hotels, light commercial floors, and other horizontal concrete surfaces covered by the product requirements.

What Finishes Can You Create With CEMstamp?

CEM Stamp can be troweled, stamped, integrally colored, or stained to create different decorative finishes. For stamped surfaces, CEM Impressions stamping tools can form stone-style patterns and textures while the overlay is workable.

Color can be added with CEM Chroma PIGMENT PAKS, available in 29 integral color options according to the existing product information. CEM Stamp can also receive compatible acid stains or CEM Tone water-based stains for additional color variation.

How Do You Prepare Concrete for CEM Stamp?

Concrete must be clean and properly prepared before CEM Stamp is applied. Remove dirt, debris, and other materials that could interfere with the overlay, and complete any necessary surface preparation before priming.

CEM Grip-it is required as the primer for CEM Stamp. Apply CEM Grip-it immediately before the overlay and do not allow the primer to dry completely. CEM Stamp should be applied while the CEM Grip-it remains wet.

Refer to the current CEM Stamp Technical Data Sheet (TDS) for complete surface preparation and application requirements.

How Do You Mix and Apply CEM Stamp?

Mix CEM Stamp with approximately 5.5 quarts of clean water per 50 lb bag; the specified range is 4.5–6.5 quarts. When using integral color, mix the appropriate CEM Chroma Color Pak into the water before adding the CEM Stamp powder.

Using a 1/2-inch drill with a Jiffy-type paddle, slowly add the powder while mixing until the material is free of lumps. Allow the mixture to slake for approximately 5 minutes, then remix.

CEM Stamp should be placed within approximately 30 minutes of mixing and can be troweled or stamped for the desired finish. Keeping bagged and mixed material out of direct sunlight can extend working time.

Refer to the current CEM Stamp Technical Data Sheet (TDS) for complete mixing and application instructions.

What Products Are Used With CEM Stamp?

CEM Stamp works with specific products for bonding, integral color, staining, and sealing. CEM Grip-it is required before applying the overlay, while the coloring and sealing products are used according to the finish selected for the project.

CEM Grip-it Primer

CEM Grip-it is the required primer for CEM Stamp β€” see Preparation above for application details.

CEM Chroma PIGMENT PAKS

CEM Chroma Pigment Paks add integral color to CEM Stamp. The selected Color Pak is mixed into the measured water before the CEM Stamp powder is added.

CEM Tone Water-Based Stains

CEM tone water-based stains add surface color to the finished CEM Stamp overlay. They offer another coloring method beyond integral pigmentation.

CEM Guard Acrylic Gloss Sealer

CEM Guard Acrylic Gloss Sealer is the recommended sealer listed in the CEM Stamp product information. It is used after the overlay has been finished according to the product instructions.

How Much CEM Stamp Do You Need?

Coverage depends on the size of the project and the thickness of the overlay. Approximate coverage for one 50 lb bag of CEM Stamp is:

  • At 1/4 inch: approximately 20–23 sq. ft.
  • At 3/8 inch: approximately 15 sq. ft.

Actual coverage may vary with surface porosity, texture, application method, and existing surface conditions.
