Surface Preparation & Application Overview
- Assess the concrete. Check its condition and moisture suitability using the manufacturerβs required tests and acceptance limits.
- Prepare the surface. Follow CEM Coating Systemsβ required preparation method and concrete surface profile. Leave the surface clean, dry, and free of contaminants.Β
- Mix each component separately. Mix Part A and Part B individually before combining them.
- Combine and mix. Use 2 parts A to 1 part B by volume. Mix for 2β3 minutes with a low-speed drill mixer at 300β450 rpm.
- Apply immediately. Pour the mixed epoxy onto the concrete and spread evenly with a flat squeegee or roller. Avoid excessive buildup. Pot life is 20 minutes at 77Β°F.
- Follow your decorative systemβs instructions. For a full-broadcast flake system, broadcast flakes into the wet basecoat to full rejection. Use the specified application sequence for metallic or solid-color systems.
- Apply the next coat. Use a manufacturer-approved coating within its specified application window. If the window is missed, obtain the required surface-preparation instructions before proceeding.
Apply within 50Β°Fβ80Β°F. Read the current technical sheet and safety data sheets for both components before use.
