Description

Dura-Kote Pigmented Colored Floor Epoxy 100% is a 2 component 100% solids, zero VOC floor coating system that is used in a wide variety of applications: high build color coat for a host of decorative concrete systems, primer coat and binder coat for Dura-Kote Flakes and Metallics. Yellowing and blush are minimized by the use of an aliphatic amine curing agent for part B. For unique, job specific conditions two other specialized part B’s are available, Premium UV and Premium Colored Concrete Floor Epoxy 100. See your SureCrete distributor for details. SureCrete pigments achieve the preferred substrate hide and tint uniformity in 100’s of colors. Note: On some bright colors, samples should be done to ensure proper coat. The high performance, self-leveling characteristics generate the premier balance of strength, flexibility, and chemical resistance that is both user-friendly and extremely durable. Dura-Kote Pigmented Epoxy 100 is ideally suited for any commercial or residential setting: manufacturing facilities, warehouses, bars, clubs, retail stores, automotive showrooms, residential interiors, garage floors, gyms, locker rooms, stadiums, or anywhere that an exceedingly resilient floor is desired.

Colored Epoxy 100% is utilized in a large variety of design applications, including, but not limited to the Dura-Kote Epoxy Flakes and Dura-Kote Epoxy Metallics systems. Besides the more creative, three-dimensional coatings, often contractors use colored 100% epoxy to make a solid colored single coating system in many applications where there simply isn’t enough time to go back and apply multiple coats of sealer products. The non-permeable nature and thick millage buildup of 100% epoxy products make them ideally suited for commercial and retail locations. This system can be applied by both fully-trained professional contractors as well as Do-It-Yourself homeowners who, with a little bit of practice, can create amazing and unique floor designs.

SureCrete’s Colored Concrete Floor Epoxy tinting system is incredibly unique and different than any other pigmented concrete coatings system available on the market today. The pigments used by SureCrete’s tinting station are far more durable and UV resistant than typical pigmented concrete sealers. With tints and pigments like these, your finished Colored Concrete Floor Epoxy 100%, epoxy coating system will last much longer than a normal Colored Concrete Floor Epoxy 100% epoxy sealer ever would, with the color staying much more vibrant over a long period of exposure. Not only are the tints more durable and UV-stable than typical colored concrete sealers, but the color range available is also a great deal wider than those available on the market today. Pigmented Epoxy 100 is available in more than 200 standard colors and now, with the power of the tinting station, all these colors and more are available same day at any of our participating distribution locations. We can even match your color palette from a different manufacturer such as Sherwin-Williams, Dupont, Baer, Valspar or Scott Paints. Or, if you’re looking for a bit more flair, we can also perform themed color matching such as University colors, Professional sports teams or maybe your favorite movie or television show! Just come into any one of our ON DEMAND distribution locations to see what we can do for you!

SureCrete’s ColorTec 500 is available in three versions, ColorTec 500 E (Economy) ColorTec 500 P (Premium) and ColorTec PTV (Premium Thin Viscosity)

ColorTec 500 E (Economy Part “B”) is an aliphatic amine hardener that delivers a cost effective clear coat. Aliphatic amines are susceptible to blushing and yellowing over time. SureCrete highly recommends the use of a polyurethane or polyaspartic top coat to extend the duration of time before the blushing and yellowing occur.

ColorTec 500 P (Premium Part “B”) is a cycloaliphatic amine hardener that delivers a premium epoxy coating. Cycloaliphatic amines are preferred do to their increased resistance to: impact, chemicals, water/moisture, and high temperatures. In addition, the cycloaliphatic amine
hardener aids in lowering blushing, water spotting, and yellowing.

ColorTec 500 PTV (Premium Part “B”) is generally used in thick build and metallic flooring systems. Premium Thin-Viscosity Part “B” is a thin-viscosity cycloaliphatic amine hardener that delivers the same high-performance features found in the Premium Part “B” hardener. The main difference being, when you add pigment’s or powders to the mix; such as “SureCrete’s Dura-Kote DK Metallic system, then manipulate and move the powders around, using the Thin Viscosity Part “B” you will achieve a more workable/flowable, 100% solids epoxy mix.

How Do You Apply SureCrete Colored Concrete Floor Epoxy 100% Epoxy Concrete Sealer?

Color epoxy 100 coatings can sometimes be difficult to deal apply, here are some simple instructions:

Any surface that is about to be sealed needs to be completely cured, clean and free of all contaminants and fully profiled and etched. Moisture should also be limited as Colored Concrete Floor Epoxy 100% epoxy systems are non-vapor-permeable sealers.
Make sure that temperatures will remain between 50 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit and a relative humidity below 75% and there will be no precipitation in the applied areas for a 12 hour period following application.
Set up a mixing area that’s out of the way of your application area, and begin by mixing Part A for three minutes to make sure the pigments are properly dispersed.
Pour in 1 part B to 2 parts A for a minimum of three minutes and pour out ALL material onto intended application surface.
First coat can be applied in some ways depending on the desired function – use notched squeegee for filling small holes and imperfections, or a simple squeegee or roller for a more tight coating.
Once the product has been rolled/squeegeed out evenly, it should be back-rolled to eliminate roller marks and achieve even color distribution.
First coat may function as a stand-alone product depending on your desired application. However, for a more scratch-resistant finished coating system, apply a finish coat utilizing a polyurethane or polyaspartic transparent coating.
If applying a finishing top coat, first coat should be sanded or screened with a 100 grit sanding screen.
While not required, we suggest the application of a Sacrificial Coat such as SureFinish to your floor ensure its integrity over an extended period without wearing down the original surface.

Can you match a color with Colored Epoxy 100?
Yes! Just make sure to get a physical color chip to one of our distribution locations.

Can Dura-Kote Colored Epoxy 100 be used as a single-coat system?
While it certainly can be used as a single coat system, we usually suggest a finish coat be applied as well as a sacrificial coating to give better scratch and chemical resistance and ensure the overall system lasts as long as possible.

Will Colored Concrete Floor Epoxy 100 self-level and fill small holes?
Yes, if applied at a thick enough millage rate, it can fill some small holes and inconsistencies in your concrete substrate, but highly recommend keeping
this usage to a minimum, as too thick of millage buildup in concentrated areas could degrade overall surface stability and longevity.
